Sri Vidyanikethan School that started in 1988 in Bangalore teaches children from pre-primary class to 10th Standard at highly subsidized rates, making it affordable for families living below the poverty line. 90% of Sri Vidyanikethan School’s students live in the neighboring slums. The school goes beyond class room teaching to regularly organize extra-curricular activities for its students. In the education sector, the work includes improving the reach and quality of primary education, motivating parents to enroll their children in early childhood educational programs. In the health care services based on preventative care, facilitating treatment by referrals, organizing health camps and sensitization programs .The socio-economic program includes mobilizing the under-privileged women into self help groups, facilitating vocational skills development programs and linkages to financial institutions to arrange loans for self employment enterprises.
